With almost 10,000 residents, Lapeer MI is a city in the state of Michigan and is the county seat of Lapeer County.  Most of the city was incorporated from land that was formerly in Lapeer Township, though portions were also annexed from Mayfield and Elba Townships.

The parks include a 2.2 mile paved foot path that winds through some of the parks, through wooded areas and across ponds. Notable features to Lapeer’s downtown business district is the Piety Hill Historic District, 29 properties that are largely 19th century dwellings, one-sixth of the buildings are churches. A significant number of the structures are Greek Revival in style, dating from the 1830s through the 1850s. We are known for many historical buildings including the old Lapeer County Courthouse, which was built in 1846 and is the oldest in the state. Some of the other historic buildings include the old post office, several churches, City Hall, the Pix Theatre and the Marguerite De-Angeli Library.

Lapeer is a wonderful place to call home, not just for the mild weather year round bringing us temperate seasons or for the breath-taking landscape that we enjoy year-round but also for the festivals and those things that make Lapeer a family centered community.  Every August Lapeer is host to the annual Lapeer Days Festival, which typically includes a parade, carnival attractions, agricultural and craft displays, a classic car show, music and food. The festival, started in 1901, began as a 1 day event, it has grown to span 5 days and in 2001 between 125,000 and 150,000 people attended.

Lapeer is home to several schools and we pride ourselves on having excellent academics, teachers and facilities.  Public schools in the Lapeer area are served by Lapeer Community Schools.

Lapeer is also home to many outstanding charities, non-profits and community events. With Lake Nepessing Golfland close by there is never a shortage of family fun for everyone including go-karts, mini golf and a driving range.  For a bargain hunter in Lapeer, there is no finer way to spend the day than taking a leisure stroll down the isles of a gigantic flea market.
